Rudyard Kipling Sculpture Project
Find out more - come along to the Internet Café, Bear Car Park, Burwash on Saturday, 7th April from 10am to 1pm.
A statue of Rudyard Kipling has been commissioned subject to the funding being raised by public donation. It will show Rudyard Kipling seated on a bench and will be located prominently in Burwash High Street. Both the statue and the bench will be cast in bronze.
This will celebrate the work of Kipling and also encourage more of the many visitors to Batemans to come to the village. It is hoped that the increased footfall will help to sustain the existing businesses and employment.
A drop in session has been set up on Saturday 7th April 2018 between 10am and 1pm at the Internet Café in the Bear Car Park to give the community the opportunity to meet local sculptor Victoria Atkinson, see the designs and find out more about this exciting project.
We hope you will be able to come along to the drop in session but if you are unable to attend but would like to know more about this project please e-mail Mary Clarke and further details will be sent to you.
